MONEY FOR THE PIGS-N-HEAT
2nd Annual Construction Equipment
Rodeo Provided Fun for All Ages

Negaunee, MI (May 5, 2009) – Miller-Bradford & Risberg, the Case distributor, is pleased to announce the construction equipment rodeo hosted in Negaunee helped raise over $700 for the Pigs-N-Heat fire relief fund. Over 250 members of the local community attended to watch equipment operators test their skills operating two top performing Case machines. All proceeds from concession sales of brats, burgers and beer were donated to the Pigs-N-Heat.

“Everyone enjoys watching seasoned equipment operators show off their skills at these events,” says Matt Anderson, branch manager for Miller-Bradford & Risberg’s Negaunee location. “We were excited to see such a large turnout from the surrounding community.”

Contestants in the rodeo tested their skill, speed and precision operating a Case 580 SM Loader/Backhoe and a Case 420 Series 3 Compact Track Loader through two obstacle courses. Fritz Horrocks from Enright Construction placed 1st and won a 37” flat screen TV, Lee Baillargeon from Denny’s Excavating placed 2nd and received a $200 Gander Mountain gift card, and Kim Maki from Maki Excavating placed 3rd and won a $100 Gander Mountain gift card.

The Pigs-N-Heat Fire Relief Fund was founded in 1984 when a Marquette City police officer and firefighter joined a Michigan state trooper to raise money for a family who lost their home in a fire. The fund has distributed more than $300,000 to Marquette County families.
